Course description: This seminar is a basic introductory overview of the Section IX Welding Qualifications Code (2023 Edition). It focuses on the ASME Certificate Holders engaged in welded construction in accordance with ASME Codes of Construction (Section I, Section VIII, etc.) and Repair Organizations working under the National Board Inspection Code (NBIC) Part 3, Repairs and Alterations.
The course describes the formatting and structure of Section IX and its scope and implementation in a Code fabrication program.
The latest revisions introduced into the Code for the 2023 edition will be covered along with new rules addressing Direct Energy Deposition Additive Manufacturing (DED AM).
Who should attend?
- The intended audience is first-time users of Section IX, as well as those with more extensive Code experience. It is most useful for the ASME Certificate Holder engaged in welded construction, and Repair Organizations working on ASME Code Boilers and Pressure Vessels under the National Board Inspection Code (NBIC).
- Those interested in understanding and meeting the requirements of QG-106 for the Supervision of welding of test coupons.
- Those wishing to gain an understanding of:
